Belarusian President extends invitation to Indian PM to visit Belarus

(MENAFN) Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Minsk on Tuesday, expressing confidence that the Indian leader would receive a warm welcome.

“We would be delighted to welcome Prime Minister Modi to Belarus. We are always ready to receive him and look forward to his visit,” Lukashenko said during a meeting with the Indian ambassador, according to reports.

The Belarusian leader noted the “very warm and cordial relationship” he shares with Modi and highlighted their regular interactions at international forums, including recent meetings at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summits in China.

Lukashenko also affirmed Belarus’ support for India’s upcoming BRICS chairmanship in 2026, stating, “We are ready to work with you under your BRICS chairmanship and to do everything necessary to ensure its success,” and thanked India for backing Minsk’s participation in both the SCO and BRICS.
