Belarusian Leader Says Ready to Receive India’s Modi in Minsk
"We would be delighted to welcome Prime Minister Modi to Belarus. We are always ready to receive him and look forward to his visit," Lukashenko stated during discussions with Indian Ambassador Ashok Kumar, the presidential press service confirmed.
Lukashenko further characterized his relationship with Modi as exceptionally close, noting they have developed a "very warm and cordial relationship" through consistent engagement at global gatherings, including their most recent interaction at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meetings in China.
The Belarusian leader also committed his nation's full support for India's upcoming BRICS leadership role in 2026.
"We are ready to work with you under your BRICS chairmanship and to do everything necessary to ensure its success," Lukashenko declared, while expressing appreciation to New Delhi for backing Minsk's membership in both the SCO and BRICS organizations.
The invitation signals deepening diplomatic cooperation between the two nations as India prepares to assume a prominent position within emerging economic alliances.
